A strange & wonderful place [2011]Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary, Bryn Mawr, Minneapolis, MN ©Ericka Bailie-Byrne [It was overcast this day, so not always easy to see birds against the white sky, but the activity was off the charts up here. On this day we saw at least 6 white-breasted nuthatches in one tree, an indigo bunting, goldfinches, the ubiquitous robins & downy woodpeckers, a couple of northern flickers feeding their chick, a bluejay, and a pileated woodpecker overhead (still have yet to see one perched, not in-flight).]
